The following explains what each symbol represents:

The hand represents empathy. The butterflies represent resilience, and draw upon the inspiring life cycle, and symbolism of the monarch butterfly. The bull symbolizes pride. The hummingbirds represent new beginnings. The leaf represents growth. The piñata symbolizes celebration and joy. 

The final milagro, entitled community, draws from the traditional sacred heart imagery in an effort to combine all of the community hopes into one final offering. The final image has colors, textures, and elements from all of the pieces: empathy, resilience, pride, new beginnings, growth, and celebration- to symbolize the necessity of each principle to build and foster a hopeful and healthy community.
